Lololucky™

HAND Dry Goods’ initial product – Lololucky – a fresh take on Japan’s Maneki Neko (lucky cat) has three distinct elements that makes it modern and new - Japanese Traditions. Aloha Spirit. New York State of Mind.

Japanese Traditions.

Lololucky respects the traditional design elements of the Maneki Neko and updates them with subtle modern touches.  A glossy solid glaze makes for a luxe sheen that catches the light.  A blank coin replaces the traditional coin with characters that call for wealth – as Lololucky believes that wealth can come in many forms, not just money.  The bell is no longer a display of fortune, but a barely there detail that is a nod to the classic design.

Aloha Spirit.

Lololucky is designed with the Aloha Spirit in its heart.  An actual law in the State of Hawaii – the law reads – “The Aloha Spirit is the coordination of mind and heart within each person…that expresses the charm, warmth and sincerity of Hawaii’s people.  Aloha is more than a word of greeting…(it) means mutual regard and affection and extends warmth in caring with no obligation in return” Lololucky is always ready to share a smile and whatever luck he waves in with no hesitation.

NY State of Mind.

The modern focal point of Lololucky is the reflective lens sunglasses.  The sunglasses add instant cool but have more meaning than pure aesthetics.  Using real gold leaf lenses, the glasses act as a mirror – reminding passersby that you make your own luck.  No matter what luck Lololucky waves in, you are the key to acting on it!
